Aloha students and families of Hōlualoa Elementary,
I have been missing your bright smiles, jokes and enthusiasm for gardening! I have set up
a YouTube channel with home gardening and cooking projects- simply google search
“Gardening at Home with Ms. Kencho” to locate the channel. Hit ‘subscribe’ to keep up
with new videos and engage through the comments section! Please email me if you are
unable to find the channel and I will send you a link.
I have ordered seeds and will have some to distribute as well as plant starts in the coming
weeks- please email me if you have garden space at home (even a pot on the lanai will
do) and would like starts or seeds! This is a great time to spend learning about where our
food comes from and also a wonderful time to start growing our own food at home!
Here is a chance to be creative- The ‘Ulu Cooperative is having a student art contest to
help raise awareness about ‘Ulu (or breadfruit- it’s the Hawaiian name, remember? :)
Visit their link on Facebook (ask an adult for help if you need!) to learn more and fill out
a submission form.
Please feel free to write to me if you would like to get in touch or have questions about
the ‘Ulu contest!
E mālama pono (take good care of yourself)
-Your garden teacher, Ms. Kencho
